Vitoria-Gasteiz will celebrate the cultural summer from July 14, with performances from Tuesday to Friday afternoons, in different locations. There will be street theater, dance, concerts, theater, monologues and a painting contest.

There will be a total of 48 events by local artists, to which must be added 7 concerts by the Municipal Band and 10 open-air cinema screenings.

During the La Blanca holidays there will be no performance and there will be no performances on weekends. «These are dates that you have to avoid crowds.»

The actions organized by the City Council will be held in fenced enclosures, with free access but reservation of space. You will not be able to stand on the spot. It will be necessary to go with enough time.

Places will be reserved through the municipal website and by phone on the day of the programming. The reservation will be for a single show and each person can reserve a maximum of two seats.
Two perimeters will be placed so that there is distance from the show, to avoid crowding around. The safety device goes in this direction. Maximum 150 people for each show.

Band Concerts
The Secret Water Garden will host 7 concerts by the Municipal Music Band. It will be the return of the Municipal Band to meet their audience.

Cinema in Plaza Santa María

There will also be open-air film screenings. This program will start with the viewing of ‘Detective Pikatxu’ on Friday, July 31 in the plaza of the Cathedral of Santa María and will end on Saturday, August 29, with the screening of the film ‘Father there is only one’, in the same space.

The cycle includes the titles ‘Little Switzerland’, ‘Aladdin’, ‘Vitoria, March 3’, ‘Good Boys’ and ‘The Goonies’. A cycle organized in collaboration with Play Gasteiz.

Outdoor Painting Contest

Salburua will host on July 18 the Open Air Painting Contest. It will be a contest in which different works can be seen.

The theme chosen for this year will be ‘Urbanism in the XXI century: Salburua neighborhood’, which will show the urban expansion that has taken place in recent years towards the east of the city. Throughout the entire Saturday morning, the public from Vitoria will be able to see the artists participating in the Contest perform their works in the Salburua neighborhood.

The finished works will be delivered before 5:00 p.m., being exhibited outside the civic center until 7:30 p.m. when the Jury’s decision will be announced.

The first prize is endowed with 1,600 euros, the second with 1,400 euros. The first prize correspon Gasteiz ’will correspond to 1,200 euros and the second prize‘ Gasteiz ’1,000 euros. These last two awards will be chosen from artists who have their habitual residence in Álava and who have not received any of the previous two awards.

Concert halls

On the other hand, the Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council is going to carry out important collaborations with concert halls, such as the one agreed upon with Dazz, for which the Sala Fundación Vital Kulturunea will host 5 jazz performances from July 10 to 14. With Raynald Colom Trio (day 10), Román Filiú Trio (day 11), The Cuban Jazz Syndicate Feat. Pepe Rivero (day 12), Félix Rossy & Toni Saigi (day 13) and Pacheco & Seppere & Regidor (day 14). All of them at 8:00 p.m.

Added to this are the 8 concerts in the Urban Rock Concept room from July 18 to September 15. The program opens on July 18 with a Tribute to Joaquín Sabina, led by Sabin Joaquina and Viceversa, who will share the night with Mairu rock. Already in August, the day 1 will come the turn of Red Iron Squad and the 29th that of Bonustrack.
And in September, 5 will be the dates that will delight rock lovers. Matt Woods on Day 1, Amann & The Waywards Sons on Day 5, Demian Band on Day 10, Lobo and Carmine on Day 11, and Rober J. Hunter on Day 15.

As for Helldorado, this room will offer concerts in double sessions, the first at noon (or Vermouth session) at 1:00 p.m. and the second at 6:30 p.m. From September 5 to 20 we will have MFC Chicken (day 5), Fíateles (day 12) and Victimas Club (day 20).
